Capital city: Dubai has no capital city. It is one of the seven emirates that
makes up the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Popular attractions: Being a duty-free zone, Dubai is a shopper's paradise.
The coast is a long stretch of golden sandy beaches lapped by the warm
waters of the Persian Gulf, a popular public beach being Al Mamzar Park.

There is also the option of the Desert Safari off road vehicle trail
across the dunes. A recent development is Ski Dubai, an indor ski slope.
And lets not forget Dubai's largest tourist attraction, Wild Wadi Water Park,
which even has an imitation thunderstorm.

Flights to Dubai
You can fly to Dubai from London Heathrow, Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow and Belfast City airports. Airlines flying to Dubai and the United Arab Emirates include British Airways, Lufthansa, Royal Brunei Airlines, Qatar Airways, KLM and Alitalia. Return flights to Dubai start from as little as £200 from Heathrow and £249 from Manchester Airport.



Where to stay in Dubai
Dubai accommodation is ainvariably of a high standard. Cheap accommodation in Dubia is hard to find. However there are some hotels offereing reasonable prices, such as the 3 star Ramee Hotel Apartments< loacated in central Dubai with rooms from £77, and the highky rates 3-star Jormand Hotel Apartments located only one kilometre from the Burjuman shopping centre and with rooms from £78.

Cheap accommodation for backpackers is not easy to find in Dubai. One possible option may be the Pacific Hotel, which has beds available at around £25 if you are willing to share a 3-bed room.
