its casinos, but there is more to do than gamble. As well as guided tours
to the Grand Canyon and surrounding sites, visitor can enjoy museums,
great entertainment and even fly above the city in a helicopter.

Flights to Las Vegas
Tourists can fly to Las Vegas from London Heathrow Airport and other large British airports. Return tickets to Las Vegas from London airports cost from £370, while flights from Glasgow can be bought from £570 per person. Airlines flying to Las Vegas include British Airways, KLM, BMI and United Airlines.


Where to stay in Las Vegas
Hotels in Las Vegas are great value for money. Perhaps they makes so much money from gambling that they don't need to charge as much as hotels in other cities. As a rersult you can find quality accommodation at reasonable prices such as Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino and New York New York Hotel & Casino, both of which offer 4-star accommodation at less than £50 a night, both on the Las Vegas 'Strip'. The 3-star Excalibur Hotel Casino, also on the strip, has rooms for only £24 and the Morrocan-style Sahara Las Vegas Hotel and Casino has rooms from £25.

Cheap hostel accommodation in Las Vegas is also available. There are a few hostels offering beds from around £12 a night. Favourites include the AAE Todds Las Vegas Hostel, with its free shuttle service and free internet as well as the Sin City Hostel, the only hostel on the strip. Other popular hostels are the USA Hostels Las Vegas and the AAE Las Vegas Paramount.

Things to do and places to visit in Las Vegas
When in Las Vegas you are almost obliged to visit the casinos. With so many it is hard to choose which is best. One favourite is the La Bayou Casino, with a great atmosphere and excellent, friendly service. Also highly rated is the Casino at Bill's Gamblin' Hall & Saloon, which is also renowned for serving excellent food.

If you don't want to gamble there is still plenty to do. The famous 'Strip', which is very much the heart of the city, is famous for its Las Vegas weddings, shopping, great bars, shows and tattoo parlors. You can wander along and check out all of the entertainmet going on, usually spending very little in the process.

Beyond the casinos and the Strip, there are many family-friendly options. The Bellagio Fountains, timed to music, are a sight worth seeing. The Mac King Comedy is an afternoon of magic and comedy that will entertain everyone and Pinball Hall of Fame, a museum of restored pinball machines (all available for use), is a must-see. Or you can join an organised tour to the Grand Canyon and see one of the natural wonders of the world.
