Things to do and places to go in Mexico City
Mexico City has interesting and colourful plazas (city squares). San Jacinto Plaza is where artists gather
to display and sell their work. Then there is the Aztec style of Plaza de las Tres Culturas, situated on
the remains of Tlatelolco, an old Aztec city. For religious sites there is the Catedral Metropolitana, the largest
cathedral in South America and Basilica de Santa Maria de Guadalupe, where in 1531 a local indian claimed to have
seen the Virgin of Guadalupe (Our Lady of Guadalupe).
The nightlife in Mexico City is vibrant and varied. From piano bars to Mexican style bars and loud and manic nightclubs
there is something to suit all tastes. Cool bars include the Spanish-style Tierra de Vinos and the ever 'buzzing'
Whiskey Bar/The Terrace. For Salsal dancing with music from a live Cuban band check out the Bar Fly. Or if you want
some cool jazz then you have to check out Zinco.
