Flights to Paris
Paris can be reached by land or air. Flights leave most British airports for the French captital,
usually landing at Charles de Gaulle airport just outside the city. Airlines flying to Paris include
British Airways, Air France and BMI. Prices start at less than £100.
There is also the option of using the train. Eurostar operates trains between London Waterloo and
Paris Gare de Nord on an almost hourly basis from 5 am until close to midnight. Special deals are
often available.

Where to stay in Paris
Paris has no shortage of accommodation. No matter what you are looking for, luxury hotel or
hostel, you should be able to find something of decent quality. Luxury accommodation is available at the
Hotel de Vendome,
near the d'Orsay museums, with rooms from £248 a night. More reasonable accommodation is also available in Paris, including the
Best Western Bretagne Montparnasse with rooms from £72 and
Best Western Lorette Opera with rooms from £75.
Note that finding somewhere to stay in Paris may be more difficult in the month of August.
Most of France decides to holiday at this time, and many will stay in France, including
visiting Paris.
Things to do and places to go in Paris
There are plenty of museums and sites to see in Paris. The Sacre Coeur, in Montmatre is quite an amazing cathedral.
Originally a place of worship by the Druids and the Gauls, it is now an important site of Christian worship.
Everyone wants to see Notre Dame Cathedral. This cathedral is a famous Gothic masterpiece standing on the
Ile de la Cité. It is often considered as the symbolic heart of the city.
