Where to stay in Venezuela
Venezuela doesn't have many good hotels, but they are of good quality. Caracas has many 3-4-star hotels, such as the Hotel Lincoln Suites and Posada Galapagos By Chana in the Los Roques region. Prices are from around £35 a room.

Venezuela isn't popular with budget travellers, so there isn't too much low cost accommodation. Hostels in Venezuela include Casa Rosa and Posada Aguazul, both in Margarita Island.

Things to do and places to go in Venezuela
San Parque Nacional Mochima: National park to the northeast with lots of islands and islets - great for snorkelling or diving.
Sierra Nevada de Merida: Go mountain trekking or rock climbing over some of the country's highest peaks.
Cueva del Guacharo: Go caving in possibly the most spectacualr cave system in Venezuela and expereince the eerie screeching of the nocturnal guacharos (oilbirds)
Centro Sambil: In Caracas. Boasting over 500 shops, restaurants and other attractions, this is the largest shopping mall in South America.
Juan Sebastian Bar: Caracas has excellent nightlife, including this superb venues, with live jazz, dining and dancing.
Merida Cable Car: The longest and highest cable car journey in the world.
